How much would you like to see there be a conference that built a platform for the issues affecting those living with disabilities? We all may not live with the same disability but we do deal with a lot of the same issues. We need to build on that very common ground. It should be what unites us all.
Let's face it, our issues are never going to be addressed at either the Republican or Democratic Primaries like they need to be. Those guys are more interested in getting elected, nominated, or both. If we want to be heard, we need to unite on common ground and go from there. People are forgetting that they need to leave their egos at home.
In 2005 I opened up Survived to Vote to represent all disabilities in an election. Then two years ago I created Raid Oklahoma to just be for Traumatic Brain Injury survivors. I created the two campaigns to work hand in hand with each other.
How much desire do you have to see a convention happen to build a platform on your issues? Do you want to see political figures truly address the issues affecting not just those living with Traumatic Brain Injury but those living with other disabilities as well? More questions to come!
